What makes a good anniversary speech

An anniversary speech honours a shared life. That sounds big, which is exactly why it helps to start small: with the dance where they met, the first flat, the Sunday morning ritual. A life emerges from pictures like these without you having to retell it year by year.

The name of the anniversary can be a thread. Silver, ruby, gold or diamond stand for something that grows more valuable with time. The image carries if you fill it with real stories, and sounds hollow if it stands alone.

Who gives the speech at a golden wedding?

How long should the speech be?
